the Tigers players can be proud of their efforts.

It was the
first game of the season for the Cougars and Pirates. Much excitement

Tigers vs. Reds
What a difference a game makes! The Tigers took the field for game 2 with a new level of confidence in front of another capacity crowd. Mother Nature didn't rain on us, and the Tigers played solid baseball. Hitting and fielding was much better than game 1, giving all Tigers players and fans something to be very proud of. Cameron H. got a game ball for very solid defensive plays and a 2 RBI double in the bottom of the 4th. Bailey C. also got a game ball for her 2-hit, great defensive game. Last but not least, Jack N. deserves a special mention for his wonderful defense at 1st base, getting 3 batter-runners out in 1 inning.

Barons vs. Royals
The Royals
third game was against the Barons Saturday morning. We had quite the first
inning in RJ Jackson hit the first grand slam hhome runof the season with his
monster hit to the outfield! The Royals also had fantastic hard hits by
Noah Guzman, David Johnson and Ben Lamsma making this an exciting game. Great
fielding took place when the Royals Austin Kure tagged a runner out at
home in one inning and threw an out to the first baseman in another.
Great game Royals!
Braves vs. Monarchs
The
Monarchs are fantastic hitters. So consistent, everyone always gets on base.
And most kids have batted in runs, including: Braden Chipman, Bobby Vaughn
(hitting a double), Joey Spaccapanicia, Molly Urosevich(hitting all the way to
the outfield), Danny Kiser, ET Onusaitis, Hunter McCloskey, Jonny Peterson,
Hunter Racic, Damian Rivera, and Wyatt Mattson. The Monarch’s were just as
strong fielding today as well. Aaron Preimsesberger had a great
pick up at 2nd base for an out. Followed by Wyatt Mattson getting the tag out
at first base. In the second inning the Monarch’s managed 4 outs. Wyatt Mattson
had a throw from the pitcher’s mound to Jonny Peterson at first base for an
out. The other three outs came from Wyatt’s tag outs. Jonny Peterson was
involved in the play no matter what position he played. He started out the
third inning by getting a tag out at third base. Then Wyatt Mattson had a tag
out at first. Damian Rivera finished the inning by tagging out the last batter.
Three more outs came in the fourth inning. Wyatt Mattson had the first tag out.
Jonny Peterson followed with another tag out at third. And Aaron Preimsesberger
finished the game with a tag out at home plate.
This is one
hard workin’ team.
Dodgers vs. Giants
Hopes were
high for the Dodgers as they faced off against their NL East rival Giants. The 1st inning proved to be a defensive gem
for both squads. The Dodgers continued to
show improvement. Benjamin Winterroth went 2 for 2 and caught a hard hit line
drive at 3rd base to earn a game ball. Sydney Provo showed incredible courage
after getting plunked in the hand by a pitched ball. She wiped away the tears,
got back in the batters box and finished her at bat. That display of effort and
determination earned
Flyers vs. Tigers
Saturday,
May 15 was a great day for baseball. The Tigers took the field with confidence,
enthusiasm, and great sportsmanship. Cheering each other on from the dugout,
the Tigers' batting was the best of the season in game 3, with Bailey
continuing her hot streak, as well as good hits from Mateo, Alfie, and Carl.
Fielding was much improved, and so many players made solid plays - Cameron,
Jack N., Jack B., Tyler, and Jimmy. Game balls went to Jaime (for his two force
outs at 3rd base and hitting explosion) and Sean (for his amazing tag out at home
plate to preserve the Tigers' lead and solid hitting).

The Royals
fourth game was against the Cubs Wednesday night and it was all about the
fielding. The Royals showed how they can play like a team all evening. Austin
Kure swooped up two grounders and threw to RJ Jackson to make the outs at first

teamed up with the first baseman making an out. Aiden Ryan caught a ball thrown
to him at home plate tagging a runner out and preventing him from scoring.
Great team work Royals! We also had remarkable hitting by Isis Perez and
Trenton Barrett Wednesday night making it an exciting game all around.
Monarchs vs. Barons
The
Monarch’s had an awesome start. Wyatt Mattson threw the first out from pitcher
to Jonny Peterson at first base. Then Wyatt followed up with 2 more tag outs.
Again in our game we had all Monarch’s ending up on base. Most Monarch’s were
able to bat in a few runs too. Those getting RBI’s include: Jonny Peterson,

to get the force out at first. Followed by Jonny Peterson finishing the inning
with a tag out at home.
Thanks
Monarchs for always keeping it exciting!
Phillies vs. Dodgers
The Dodgers played their longest game of the year against their division foes the Phillies. The game was a defensive battle between both squads. Ryan Hull turned in his best game of the year going 3-for-3 at the plate and recording 4 put outs including an unassisted double play! Ryan’s performance earned him a game ball. Andriana Herman also earned a game ball for her clutch hitting, offensive hustle and defensive skills. Xavier Diaz also impressed the coaches and his parents by recording a nice defensive putout at first base and recording a couple of hits. The Dodgers will look to take the momentum from this game into their upcoming showdown with the Astro’s.

Padres vs. Senators
We are continually impressed by the
improvements made by each and every player on the team. Not only has our
hitting become better, but also our base running skills, listening to the base
coaches, and becoming more aware of the game has increased. The game ball was
awarded to TJ Burk for his consistent hitting and base running. Sportsmanship
award went to Abby Najacht because she is always ready and willing to do what
is asked of her, and the second sportsmanship award went to Jacob Nick, because
even though he was not able to play, was a fantastic teammate cheering on his
team.

Padres vs. RailCats
With the sun pounding down, the Padres
brought some heat to this game! Behind the plate at catcher, Ryan Daimid's
quick moves stopped a few opposing players from scoring. The Dynamic Duo
of Connor Wasick and Brett Wasick had an inning of fantastic defensive plays
that retired the side. All three Padres received games balls for their
efforts. The sportsmanship award went to Ethan Recka for his amazing enthusiasm
on and off the field. Here we go, Padres, here we go!
Wednesday, May 26
The Cougars were fired up to play the
A’s. Kylee King was eager to get the
game started as catcher, stopping the A’s whenever she saw the opportunity. First baseman, Jayden Silva, gave the A’s
little chance to get past him. His
determination gave the A’s unexpected outs. Chase Huffman sped to first base hitting singles when at bat. Cougars played well with teamwork being the
key to their success. Go Cougars!
